Whale Class News
Term One- I am Special
Wow what an amazing first term in Whale class. Whale class have settled into routine brilliantly. This term we have enjoyed exploring our new classroom and outdoor learning space. We have really enjoyed using the musical instruments, the water tunnel and our mud kitchen! Whale Class have also enjoyed exploring the playroom (softplay) this term and have all now learnt when the playroom is open for us to play in and when it is closed.
We have been exploring which toys we like and dislike and have been using these to help build our communication strategies.
This term we have been completing ‘Attention Autism’ sessions. We are currently completing stage one which is called Bucket Group and have been learning how to attend to these sessions. We have all made excellent progress with these sessions and our favourite item in the bucket has been balloons!
Towards the end of the term we have enjoyed participating in Halloween themed activities. We have made potions, decorated ghost marshmallows, decorated pumpkins and completed a fizzing experiment using pumpkin faces, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.
Well done Whale Class on an amazing start to the year and we are excited to see you continue to progress next term. Next terms topic is ‘Special Times’.
